Monoi de Tahiti is the most fabulous natural floral oil from French Polynesia.
The 2000 year old technique, called enfleurage, is the art of extracting fresh floral buds and/or aromatic ingredients and gently macerating them in coconut oil.
The Gardenia Taitensis (Tiare) flower comes from the Rubiacea plant species.
The Tiare Tahiti blooms all year round with it's snow-white petals that contrast against it's glossy, dark green, smooth leaves. The Gardenia releases an unique aroma into the Coconut Oil sort of a mixture of gardenia, tuberose and a hint of apple flowers.
Applications:
Anita Grant's Monoi de Tahiti is manufactured under strict controls and has been issued with a certificate of origin by the Monoi de Tahiti Appellation D'origine. This is why only "Tiare" flower buds from the Gardenia Tahitensis species and Coconut Oil obtained from the coconuts grown exclusively on the coral soil of French Polynesia are acceptable for use in Monoi de Tahiti® Tiare. Monoi de Tahiti may solidify at temperatures below 72°F (22°C).
